Preparing for my role as Elpheba...

Hey folks! It's been a while. Between Thanksgiving, concerts, work, and what not, it's been a crazy few weeks.

The other night Tom said he wanted to do facials. I thought he was kidding. You'd think I would know better. He was not. He then wanted me to take a picture of us. I thought he was kidding again. But once again, he was serious. THEN he suggested I post it on my blog. That's when I remembered, again, how grateful I am for my husband. So, to help put a smile on your face (and make you wonder how in the world I found someone as weird as me), here is a delightful picture of us as green as the Wicked Witch of the West.

We've booked planed tickets to OZ.

Actually, we did book tickets to Virginia. I am choreographing a piece for the University of Virginia, and Tom will be chillaxin' with me. But that's news for a future blog.

In other news, still...

We haven't forgotten about our Thursday Cook-Something-New-Nights. I haven't posted anything for a while because: First there was the dancEnsemble concert. We planned ahead and made a delicious potato and leek stew in our crock pot. Tom delivered the yummy goodness to me at the dress rehearsal. Second, we decided to make our own homemade tortillas for some delicious Cafe Rio style burritos. They were delicious, but my camera was at work. Third, it was Thanksgiving. But that didn't get me off the hook to cook something. I was in charge of mashed potatoes. Even though it's not a new dish for me, I tried spicing it up a bit with some garlic and other "secret" ingredients.

And that leads up to this week!

We didn't do anything too fancy. We've been talking about making our own bread for some time now, especially with food costs up. So today we made some whole wheat bread from scratch. (Plug here: I love, love, LOVE my kitchen aide!) It turned out delicious, made our apartment smell divine, and provided the perfect backdrop for some hearty sandwiches.

Bon Appetite!
