Catching Up

Look who it is?  It's me!

Not to much to say, so we'll just make this a quick "bullet list" post.

  • I am teaching spring term at BYU.  I have a lovely bunch of students, and I enjoy the small class size and stress-free mentality that spring terms always brings.
  • Tom's mom, sister, and her adorable twins came briefly into town on their way to California. It was great to see them.
  • Tom is doing great stuff with work.  We are hopeful for the future, despite the fact that we have no clue what exactly it holds for us.
  • Business stuff:  I'm sure people will ask, so let's just put it out there.  We are on hold for the moment.  Everything is pretty much ready to go, but because of Tom's work and some other things we are not pushing ourselves to open this fall.  However, I am going to start doing some movement therapy once Spring term is over.  This excites me.  I will say that both Tom and I feel really, really good about how things are working out.
  • Super-cute-sister-Katie, got married last week.  Yay!
  • I am cooking up a storm these days in the kitchen.  We've successfully ended our reliance on processed foods and have really enjoyed exploring new things.  I remember the days when I was lucky if I got 5 servings of veggies in a WEEK.  Now, I can proudly say that I eat a variety of fruits and veggies daily... even exceeding that whole five-a-day rule.  We've also cut back on meat almost completely.  I don't really buy or cook it, but we still eat it when at family functions and occasionally when eating out.  I love how much energy we have (and the weight loss wasn't bad either, although not intentional).
  • I've been doing a lot of yoga lately.  So nice.  I really am enjoying this extra time I have these days.
  • Overall, I don't think I've felt this excited about things in a long time.  And it's kind of strange because we really have this big-black-unknown-future ahead of us:  No job, no benefits, no security.  Isn't it great!?  Tom and I have prayed a lot and we feel an overwhelming spirit of comfort and love.  Good things are ahead.

I can sort of understand not feeling stressed even with that "big-black-unknown-future-ahead" thing. It seems that Jeff and I go through that every couple of years just to keep life exciting. The truth is, every time we've taken a blind step into the future, it has always yielded exactly what we didn't know we really needed. Does that even make sense? I confuse myself. Anyway...the best to you!!! Good luck with all!
