Your Hard Work is About to Pay Off...

The title of this blog comes from a fortune cookie I recently got. Strangely, all of my fortunes lately seem to fit my life.

For example, this gem I got: "You will soon make a chance at work" came just as I was praying about some big decisions in my work life. Nice!

This one: "Happy events will take place in your home" came when I was moving in.

And this is an old one, but good too: "Your dearest wish will come true." This fortune came just a few days before Tom proposed. Yes, I kept it. :)

That Panda, they know how to call 'em.

...Enough funny business. Let's move on to some updates!

In no particular order, here are some of the happenings in the life of Robin and Tom:

1. You are Here.

My dance concert that I've been planning since January happened on Saturday. It went really well. It was a fast and furious day where we had to do all of our lighting and dress rehearsals in the morning and afternoon of the actual performance. Definitely not ideal, but the Rose only had one day available and we took it. We had awesome help from our lighting person, Amber Wade, and great support from Tom (Sound King) and Katie (Video princess) along with the AMAZING dancers and great audience members (thanks to those of you who came! It meant a lot to see you there). I was able to do my "yearly" performance, which always feels great. I look forward to another show next year.

One of my wonderful dancer's mom drove out from Texas and took a bunch of photos. Once I get my hands on those I'll post some.

2. Feels like home.

We are finally moved in and settled. We LOVE our new condo. It's spacious, beautiful, and has a lot of features that really fit our life right now. We took a week and a half to paint the entire thing. And while we'll never do that again, it paid off. Here are a few photos:

One view of the main living/dining area. See how open it is!

Another view:

The master bedroom. Notice the headboard. Yes, we made it ourselves.

The office.

The guestroom. It's really a beautiful shade of green, but you can't really tell in this photo. There is also a nice guest bathroom and laundry room, lots of great closets, and a deck.

3. Cooking with Justin!

Our friend, Justin, is a great chef. We love cooking with him because he is talented and gets so excited about food. We've started a blog where we will post our future recipes and such. Justin is great because he knows his ingredients. These recipes are all him.

Check it out: http://cookingwithjustin.blogspot.com/

4. SYTYCD

Yes, friends, I am auditioning. Next week. Should be interesting. I fully intend (FULLY) to spend my ENTIRE day sitting and waiting and getting to dance for maybe 15 seconds in front of the unknown producers before being sent home. Mark my words. But Katie is going to audition with me, and it will be a great day of people watching if nothing else.

In the meantime, as I watch this season, I really hope either Brandon or Janette win. They are in a class way above the others.

Oh yeah, baby.

Until next time!

I'm glad your fortunes are good. Last fortune I got from Panda said I was fat. "You should consider a regular exercise regimen."

You're house is beautiful. I absolutely love it.

I've never watched so you think you can dance... but if you make it, I will watch and vote.

Amen to Jeanette or Brandon, they make it look practically perfect every time and easy to boot. The tango was freaking unreal.

Good luck in auditions, I'm rooting for you! I love the pics of your new place. You seem in a state of bliss :)

Those Panda fortune cookies are great! The other day Jayson and I went there and his fortune was: "Stop searching forever, happiness is next to you." Cheesey, yes. VERY. But I liked it. Those Panda Cookies are so smart.

I am SO sorry I missed your performance. What a suckie friend I am right now! Jon told me he went and LOVED it. Your home looks beautiful, and how clean!(with Max and Abby I don't know what clean is anymore). Let me know when I can come see it.
