So excited!!!

Life is great. Seriously. The warm weather always makes me feel more alive and energetic. Bring on the spring! (And let's not get to the summer heat for a while, please.)

Good things are going on in the life of Robin. On St. Patty's Day I finally became and aunt! Tom's sister, Christina, had TWINS. One boy. One Girl. Blake and Lilly. I'm excited to see them, although it won't be until August when we head out to Chicago for Tom's other sister's wedding. So while I'm officially an aunt, I don't really get to feel like an aunt for a while. But we're excited for Chis and Jon, and glad that the babies arrived healthy.

On that same day, another exciting thing happened:

We put some money down to reserve a lot. We're buying a house!!!!!!

Seriously, I am so excited about this, and I probably shouldn't be so excited just yet. We've reserved the lot (in Highland, in an absolutely GORGEOUS neighborhood with a scenic view of the mountains), pre-qualified for a loan, and all but chosen the actual floor plan. The only thing that is keeping me from getting TOO excited is BYU. With the hiring freeze there is still some question as to whether or not I will have a full time job with them next year. They want to hire me, and everyone from the Head of the Department to Dean and all the way up to the Vice President of the University said that they were optimistic and hopeful that things will work out. But I'd hate to get too carried away and find out I'm unemployed just as I sing off on a mortgage. So, fingers crossed (or better yet, say those prayers!) that everyone's hope is true. I should know by the end of April (if not sooner). Our plan is to move in August. Needless to say, with all the grants and perks of buying a home right now, I have been able to see the little silver lining in this horrible economic situation.

This is a visual of the house we are looking at building. It's exciting. So very, very exciting. Goodbye noisy neighbors! Goodbye!!!

Hello, home.

That is very exciting! Not the part where you don't know if you have a job next year, but the part where you are getting a house! WAHOO! And it looks BE-A-U-TA-FUL!

Congrats on the house! Good luck with everything, especially the job part. I don't know what BYU would do without Robin. :)

Having bought a house before, the next time we move we will be building. Good luck. Does Chuckles get his own room?
