Let's Throw a Parade!

I've been busy trying to get all my stuff done for school these past few weeks so I can enjoy my last two weeks of freedom before my meetings start. And by freedom, I mean two weeks of cleaning, painting, packing, and moving. Exciting, huh?

So it's been a while since I've put any words out there in blog land. There has definitely been some exciting things happening in my life. In no particular order, some highlights of the past 2 months:

1. Utah Parade of Homes

Tom and I went to the UPH in Utah Valley in June. I loved it. House #13 was by far my favorite home. I took some pictures of it (we actually begged the 10 year old boy who takes the tickets to let us go in a second time). It is beautiful.

This is a small view of the backyard. You can sort of see the swimming pool. What you can't see is the water slide, volleyball sandpit, fire pit, horse shoe pit, and giant grassy area
.

This is the view of the front door. This place has a guest wing. (That's right, not a guest room, but a whole wing with full functioning kitchen to go with the other TWO full functioning kitchens.) It has a full sized, two story indoor basketball court, beautiful large gym, fantastic movie theater (the coolest one I've seen to date in a home), a pirate room for the kids (with a ship that's a bed!), plenty of other bed rooms, among other things...

This is a small part of the down stairs... a quiet billiard room. This house won the people's choice award for best home AND best interior design.

We had so much fun with the Utah Valley Parade of Homes, that I just got our tickets to go to the Salt Lake Parade of Homes which starts TOMORROW. We're going with my parents. They share our love for looking at beautiful homes and thinking, "some day..." I highly recommend this. It's loads of fun.

2. Moving!

Ok, so I haven't moved yet, but I will be in three weeks. I'm only moving less than five minutes away from where I live now, but I'm excited. It will be strange moving into a place all by myself. I'm looking forward to some aspects of it (not having to clean up after other people, etc.), but it will be different. Of course, I only have to live by myself for 1 1/2 months because then...

3. I'm getting married!

I'm pretty sure this isn't news to most people who read this blog. But I'm very excited. The date is October 10th. I can't believe how blessed I am to have found someone as weird as me. :) I've come to realize through this whole process how much I really don't like talking about my personal life. I'm definitely not the girl who gets all high pitched and ... I don't know... girly. But I am truly happy to be marrying my best friend, and someone who has the same ideas on life. And for anyone who thinks I'm rushing into anything, take a look at some of these pictures. Can you believe I found someone who: 1. not only agreed to take engagement pictures like this, but 2. was probably more excited about it than me? I didn't think so. We are in for a wild, crazy adventure that I'm sure will have bumps, detours, and challenges along the way. But I can't think of anyone I'd rather experience those with.

Onward!

1) I need to go to the parade of homes more. I love house-touring. It's like furniture shopping but better/cooler.

2) I'm glad you finally found someone who would dress-up like a super hero with you. I couldn't part with you to anyone less worthy. After all, it's good to know there are other people out there willing to do stuff like that.
